Superconducting Center Selected as a New Research and Development Institution in Hefei City in 2023

Recently, the Hefei International Applied Superconductor Center project was approved by the executive meeting of the municipal government and officially included in the assessment and management of new research and development institutions in Hefei. It has become the first municipal level new research and development institution in the North District of the Economic and Technological Development Zone, and is also an important milestone in the innovation driven development of the Superconductor Center.

New R&D institutions are independent legal entities that focus on technological innovation needs, mainly engaged in scientific research, technological innovation, and R&D services. They have diversified investment entities, modernized management systems, market-oriented operating mechanisms, and flexible employment mechanisms. In February 2021, Hefei City issued the "Management Measures for New R&D Institutions in Hefei City (Trial)", emphasizing the need to "accelerate the gathering of innovative resources, create a batch of high-level new R&D institutions, promote high-quality collaborative innovation, build a high-energy platform system, cultivate high-level talent teams, implement high-level scientific and technological breakthroughs, and promote the transformation of efficient achievements".

Next, in accordance with the requirements of the "Classification and Support Management Rules for High Quality New R&D Institutions in Hefei", the Superconducting Center will vigorously promote the construction of new R&D institutions around talent introduction, achievement transformation, enterprise incubation, and industrial economic benefits, aiming at innovative breakthroughs in cutting-edge superconducting technology, focusing on the transformation and promotion of superconducting technology achievements, and focusing on relevant industry cultivation and enterprise introduction, Efforts will be made to build a superconducting industry demonstration base with international influence, to assist in the formation and development of the superconducting industry chain in Hefei.
